New “Jack the Giant Slayer” Trailer Looks Terribly Unpromising

This March, director Bryan Singer will present another fairytale inspired action movie, “Jack the Giant Slayer.” The latest trailer for it is available in full above and, as you can see, it’s none too promising.

The first trailer included unfinished special effects, for which reason it was hard to tell how the film would look. This new one is more polished but not necessarily better for it.

There’s a marked disconnect between the actors and the special effects: instead of all of them working together to tell a story, it feels like they’re adults playing dress-up against a green screen (which they are, but we shouldn’t be able to tell it).

If you think about it, if the film is anything like the trailer, “Jack” will have been a complete waste of extraordinary talent.

The cast alone includes Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor (seriously, can this man be any handsomer?), Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and Ian McShane, to name just a few.

“Jack the Giant Slayer” will be out on March 1, 2013.
