Matthew McConaughey is on a mission to save Earth in the latest “Interstellar” trailer, but the biggest challenge ahead of him is that of choosing between his mission and knowing that he might never see his children again.

“Interstellar” is the latest project from writer / director Christopher Nolan, which has been shrouded in secrecy until not long ago; not an easy trick to pull in this day and age. As with every other Nolan project, fans are to expect something else than what they’re lead to believe they’ll see from the trailers.

Still, they are quite a visual feast, and the latest is no exception.

When Nolan made his Comic-Con debut in San Diego this year, bringing leading man McConaughey along and a brand new clip from the film, it was described as “visually stunning” and “epic,” especially in its depiction of space.

No word yet if anything from that video was included in the most recent trailer, but it comes pretty close to those descriptions, even when watched on a computer’s comparatively small screen. The image of the waves that look like mountains is particularly striking – and will undoubtedly remind Nolan’s fans of the inverted streets with buildings in “Inception.” Nolan was always the kind of director that generates a sense of awe through his work.

“Interstellar” also features appearances from Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Makenzie Foy, David Gyasi, Ellen Burstyn, Wes Bentley, and John Lithgow. It will be out in selected theaters on November 5, and will open wide 2 days later.

Below is a also featurette with Kip Thorne, which also includes new footage.
