New Insights into Illegal Oil Refineries in Nigeria [Video]

A newly released video shows how illegal oil refineries negatively impact on the environment and states that the authorities in charge of putting an end to such activities actually receive bribes from people in order to look the other way.

As one can easily see in the images depicted in this video, the land around this illegal oil refinery is virtually destroyed and blacked as a result of a series of chemical compounds (gas, petrol, kerosene and diesel) being released during refining operations.

Apparently, major oil companies in various parts of the world are presently faced with having to deal with dozens of illegal oil refineries which break into their pipelines so as to steel this precious resource and thus often cause oil spills to occur.

Although it is true that some communities have no choice but to resort to illegally refining oil in order to make a living, we do think that such activities need be stopped as soon as possible to avoid further damage being caused to the environment.
