It supports HDMI 1.4 technology and has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels

There are some programs that really need a fast monitor, like advanced graphics design software that can render thousands of grass blades at once, or high-end games that squeeze every shred of visual prowess from a video board.

Iiyama has just introduced a monitor that can keep up with stringent demands, the ProLite GB2773HS-2.

While the native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels is normal, the refresh rate of 144 Hz is not, and neither is the 1 ms response time (5 ms is the “normal” one).

Of course, you'll need to connect the PC to the monitor via the dual-link DVI or DisplayPort, because the HDMI 1.4 port can only cope with an 80 Hz refresh rate due to the smaller bandwidth.

A final asset is the pretty high brightness of 300 cd/m2. Not amazing by any means, but more than decent.

It's a shame that these good points couldn't come without some bad. Alas, the use of an LED-backlit TN panel resulted in narrow viewing angles of 80° vertical and 85° horizontal. At least the stand can tilt and swivel (17° and 90°, respectively).

Iiyama should have already started shipping the 27-inch ProLite GB2773HS-2 monitor for 43,800 JPY / $430 /€316.
