New Hot Mango Ads with Penelope and Monica Cruz

Penelope Cruz has long been a favorite with the public, so it’s no wonder that almost everything she touches turns to gold. Her line for street giant Mango, Penélope & Mónica Cruz for MNG, on which she collaborates closely with her less famous, but equally talented sister, is a good example of that. The secret is to keep it classy, as the latest ads for the collection also reveal.

The limited collection of the two stars for the Spring / Summer ’09 Mango line is centered on “Japanese influenced, kimono styles and blazer-trouser combos,” as several media outlets report. However, the “piece de resistance” is the all too important little black dress, as the new shots for the fourth Cruz campaign also show. And who else knows better about rocking a LBD if not the two actresses, by now regular presences on the red carpet?

The shots, three of them in black and white, speak volumes in terms of classiness and elegance, going hand in hand with the creations, all of which are feminine to the extreme without being too revealing or extravagant. The Cruz sisters, with their big brown eyes and eerily resembling countenances, are just the perfect pair to show off such classy, timeless pieces as these.   

Other than the LBDs, the Cruz line also includes other trendy pieces, such as blazers and raincoats, hailing from the ’50s and ‘60s. Soft, neuter colors such as white and beige are predominant, and they should be mirrored in accessories such as bracelets, pumps and earrings. Spring ’09 will be, down in the streets, all about elegance and grace – much to the disadvantage of comfort, which is finally thrown out the window.

However, this is not Penelope’s first brush with the fashion industry. During her three-year romance with Tom Cruise, she was the face of Ralph Lauren Polo, whereas before coming to Mango she modeled for Diddy’s Sean John line. Since 2006, she is also the face of L’Oreal.
