Square Enix has posted a new statement concerning the fate of its Hitman franchise, confirming that a new installment is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One from series founder IO Interactive, while mobile titles will appear from Square Enix Montreal.

Yesterday, new details appeared about the next game in the Hitman series, which was supposed to be made by Square Enix Montreal, but was apparently canceled last year.

Square Enix made an official statement to Polygon and mentioned that a next-gen full-fledged Hitman game was coming to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One from series developer IO Interactive.

Square Enix Montreal, meanwhile, has been confirmed to work on mobile games and "some of which are related to the Hitman franchise," according to Square Enix.

The company assured fans that it would detail these new Hitman titles later this year.
