While some companies might be waiting for CeBIT 2011 before making their next move, Origin PC figured it didn't really need to wait, so it added two new laptops to the EON series.

Origin PC doesn't often announce new products, but since it does deal in gaming notebooks, its machines are guaranteed to have top-tier hardware.

Of course, the saying that for all rules there are exceptions probably applies, but the new products released by the outfit aren't it.

To be more specific, those that happen to drop by the official Origin PC website will likely stumble upon the new EON 15-S and EON 17-S.

The Eon 17-S is, as one may guess, the stronger of the two, with a screen size of 17.3 inches (has, as expected, has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and a strong CPU, up to the Intel second generation Core i7.

The chip is backed up by up to 32 GB of dual-channel DDR3 RAM (random access memory) and paired with powerful graphics, like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 485M 2GB DirectX 11 discrete GPU.

In addition to all this, USB 3.0 exists, as does 802.11n Wi-Fi and e-SATA, plus appeal-enhancing features, like a customizable top cover for the lid.

Meanwhile, the EON-15-S is largely identical to its sibling, with the exception that its screen diagonal is of 15.6 inches instead of 17.3.

Of course, as is the case with so many other laptops and desktops, it falls to the buyer to actually select the components.

That said, instead of the aforementioned 32 GB of DDR3 at 1,333 MHz, one can choose to 'limit' oneself to 16 GB, albeit with a clock of 1,600 MHz.

The base prices for both are of roughly $1,750 (EON-15-S) and $1,790 (EON-17-S), but they will change according to said options.
