If there still are people around who claim that the stock iPod headphones are looking cool, we beg them take a look at the newest additions to the Nixon headphones family. If great sound and awesome style is your game, then you should give away your Apple headphones to the kids in your neighborhood and get a pair of these new Nixons on your head.

There are three new models: the Master Blaster, the Nomadic and the Wire, each with some additional features and color options, letting you decide your style and attitude.

The highest in rank are the Master Blaster, with visibly enlarged ear cushions and large-pad headband, both in real leather, destined for the long and peaceful listening sessions at home, where comfort and great audio quality are indispensable elements. They come with custom full size volume knob, molded carrying case and removable cord, retailing for an announced price of $200, definitely not a current entry on your everyday shopping list, but by all means a nifty toy for the discerning music listeners.

Second in the range come the Nomadic headphones, Nixon's point of view upon the critical issue of portability and comfort. These headphones have been created for the traveling person, and sport a foldable design, offering safer storage on longer trips. One of the Nomadic's strong points is the memory foam cushions, a serious plus on the fit side. With prices starting at $100 for the Nomadic Mic and Nomadic models, these headphones also sport an iPhone-dedicated version, which is, of course, more expensive, and sells for $120.

Finally, the Nixon headphone family's newest member is the in-ear model, codenamed Wire, coming in 4 “flavors:” iPhone, Mic, 10mm drivers and 8mm drivers. These earbuds come with a strong style loaded with character, and sport an ergonomic fit, aided by the presence of 3 silicone tips for a snug placement inside the ear canal. Their surface has been coated with a smooth soft material for a nicer touch sensation. The Wire iPhone and Wire Mic retail for $90, while the 10mm ones sell for $60 and the 8mm for $40.

Now, grab that Christmas gift list and do the necessary modifications.

i bought the nixon nomadic headphones and i used a pair and i was very disappointed. it could have been that my expectations were different than they really were. it didn't cancel out any noise really (not that they advertise it) and the quality was nothing to write home about (it was okay at best). i didn't use them long enough for the foam to mold to my ear but i still think the $100-120 could have been spent much better and so i returned the headphones. i bought the bose triport over-ear headphones and in my opinion, i think they are much better.

I wear headphones when I run, go to the gym, snowboard, and sleep on planes... I was excited to try the new Nixon headphones. I went with the Wire because of the size. The difference (as I understand) between the 8mm and 10 mm is speaker size. I went with the 10mm. Maybe it's my deformed head/ears, but I can't get them to stay in for the life of me. If I run 3 miles, they'll fall out probably 25 times. I've tried all of the different size earbuds they come with and only the smallest gets in deep enough, but they don't rest on anything. If you lie down, they tilt just enough to make all the bass fade out. I can't imagine they'll be good for much more than sitting on a plane. Sorry.
