Black Mesa is also hiring

To tell you the truth, I don't really know why a development team would name themselves Black Mesa but I guess that's their choice. In spite of this name, they develop very good Half-Life 2 mods. Everybody is excited as Black Mesa announced that they have just released their second mod, this time for Half-Life 2.

All of their older media has been replaced with new updates and they have finally picked winners from the community projects on their Public Forums. Apparently, they have also updated their FAQs and also opened the books for hiring some new people (interested?).

They also announced that they have new content in almost every area which is categorized in sections. On top of this, they plan to release another update soon, called 'Stage 2' that will come before the end of the December, according to them.

The Black Mesa development team borrowed their name from the Black Mesa Research Facility, a fictional complex located in the desert of New Mexico and the setting for most of the events of Half-Life.

If you have ever played Blue Shift and Opposing Force, you probably have some idea of how big this entire facility is. It also has a very high security level, each employee having to undergo a series of rigorous security checks upon entering the facility.

I guess Half-Life developers based the Black Mesa facility on the real-life Area 51 complex. They share many features, such as: an isolated location, military connections and supposed secret research programs. Maybe alien corpses are hidden there?who knows?
