One of the mobile phones that wireless carrier Sprint is expected to add to its offering in the not too far future is the HTC Knight, a handset that would be running under Google's Android operating system, and which can be admired in a nice series of new photos.

This Android device made it to the headlines quite a few times before, with some suggesting that it might be released as the EVO Shift 4G, but nothing was announced officially on it as of now.

However, the guys over at HTCPedia managed to snag a few images with the device, and they published them on the web, so that you can have a look at what Sprint is readying for its customers.

The handset itself looks pretty appealing, though these photos do not show it in all of its glory, since we can not have a look at the slide-out QWERTY keyboard it packs beneath that large touchscreen.

And while HTCPedia brought these photos with HTC Knight to the Internet, it appears that BGR managed to come up with some hardware specifications for it.

The upcoming mobile phone should arrive on the market with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display on board, as well as with a 1GHz application processor (it might be a dual core chip when launched).

Moreover, the new handset is said to include an 8-megapixel photo snapper, along with 4G connectivity options. Basically, it would come as the successor of EVO 4G, though adding a little more flavor into the mix with the said keyboard.

All in all, it would be Sprint’s version of the HTC Desire Z, with 4G capabilities included into the mix.

For the time being, no confirmation on these hardware specifications emerged, so we'll take this with a grain of salt.

The Android-based device is still unannounced, and it might remain so for a while, though rumor has it that Sprint might be set to make it official in the very near future.
