New iPAQ hw6940 from HP

At the 3GSM convention in Barcelona, HP has unveiled its latest Pocket PC, the iPAQ hw6940.

The hw6940 continues the iPAQ series and, like the predecessors, features a 240 x240 pixels touch screen, capable of
displaying 65k colors, and a full QWERTY keyboard. It is powered by a 416 Mhz Intel PXA270 processor, has 64 MB of SDRAM and a storage capability of 45 MB, which can be further expanded via miniSD cards. The device offers a 1.3 megapixels camera, with flash and mirror for self-portrait, and for the audio part an MP3 player, integrated microphone, stereo headphone jack. The PDA runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 and it comprises software applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Media Player 10. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11b, Bluetooth 1.2, IrDA SIR 1.2, infrared, GPS.

The device is quad-based GSM/GPRS/EDGE and is due to be released in the late Spring 2006.
