The truth of the matter is that we're going through some pretty bleak economic times right now, and for this reason, the idea of a netbook that targets specifically the enterprise and business segments, while the same time being quite affordable is a very interesting one. Given these circumstances, HP has decided to launch a new ultra-portable computing solution targeted directly at businessmen on a budget and thus rolled-out their new HP Mini 1103 business model, which offers a rather interesting set of features at a more than affordable price point. The 10.1-inch portable system can be equipped with a choice of Atom CPUs (N475 running at 1.83 GHz or N455 running at 1.66 GHz), accompanied by the Intel NM10 Express chipset, up to 2 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM memory, plus a SATA (7200 rpm) HDD that can go as high as 320GB. The netbook's LED-backlit WSVGA widescreen display is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 graphics solution, and the device will also deliver plenty of connectivity options, including here 3 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 external VGA monitor, 1 combo stereo headphone/mic jack, 1 AC power jack, 1 x RJ-45 connector and a media card reader. Other features worth mentioning include the presence of integrated HD stereo speakers and microphones, a built-in VGA webcam, 93% full-sized spill-resistant keyboard and a touchpad with scroll zone and two soft-touch buttons. Furthermore, users can opt to fit the HP Mini 1103 with either a 6-cell (55 WHr) high-capacity Li-Ion battery or with a 3-cell (28 WHr) high capacity Li-Ion power pack. Also, carrying this thing around shouldn't prove to be much of a problem, given the fact that it measures 10.55 x 7.52 x 0.89 in (26.8 x 19.1 x 2.28 cm) and weighs around 2.78 lb (1.26 kg). As mentioned before, pricing for this thing is actually quite affordable, the HP Mini 1103's pricing starting at just 299 US dollars.
