It also looks like the headset itself got a bit larger than before

People might not know it, but the first trial run of Google Glass wasn't all sunshine and daisies. There were pitfalls, most notably in terms of audio support.

Basically, while the glass has a speaker, of sorts, it's not exactly audible, especially when you're outside and the wind or traffic is wailing in your ears.

Google has been listening to the feedback, fortunately, and has made modifications.

The photos above and below show that the headset (Google Glass 2) has become a bit larger, but that's not the important bit.

The real new perk is the detachable mono earbud that will make it easier to take calls and listen to music, all the while not cutting you off from the outside world, seeing how your other ear will be unobstructed.

According to Google, the Glass might be compatible with other frames when it finally becomes available in 2014. Before then (later this year), only the few lucky enough to be part of the ongoing trial will get their hands on it.
