A new app for the Google Glass has been launched and it allows users to tweet their pictures online. GlassTweet was built by Jonathan Gottfried, developer evangelist at Twilio, Tech Crunch reports.

Basically, the app lets you share photos on Twitter rather than send them to Google+. Once it is installed and connected to Glass and the Twitter account, a new contact is added to the list.

With the name “Tweet,” it is pretty easy to figure out that if you send your images to said contact, the images will end up on the microblogging platform.

They also say that they are working on adding a new feature to the app that should enable users to tweet videos since Google Glass can also record such files.

Twitter is also thinking about developing its own app for the Google Glass, Tech Crunch notes, so that’s also something to look forward to.

Some other apps are available for the few who are already trying out Google Glass. Aside from some Google dedicated apps, such as Maps, Google+, Gmail and Google Now, The New York Times has released its own app that allows users to browse articles.

It also lets users view breaking news alerts and hourly updates, but can also read aloud article summaries.

Over the weekend, the Google Glass has also been hacked. The author of the jailbreak has managed to exploit a weakness of Android on Glass in order to manage to hack the device.

The technique he used removes any restrictions Google might place. Since the Internet giant is about one year away from launching the device to the larger masses, it is yet unknown if the operating system will be the same for the developer glasses and for the ones in mass-production.
