Sony and its Santa Monica studio have just posted a brand new video from their upcoming God of War: Ascension title, this time showing off the development process for the Manticore enemy, one of the biggest flying foes protagonist Kratos has ever faced.

God of War: Ascension covers the origins of Kratos and will see him face off against all-new enemies, some of which have already been revealed through special trailers.

Now, a brand new video has just appeared, in the form of a developer diary that takes a look at the Manticore enemy, a huge flying beast that's composed of all sorts of animal parts.

As you can see in the footage above, the Manticore's design and animation process has been extremely thorough and complex, so players will have a great time fighting against the giant foe in Ascension's single-player campaign.

God of War: Ascension will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 at the beginning of March.
