Although the younger generations have pretty much made the leap from analog to digital in a fairly fast and seamless manner, there are still quite a large number of people out there who're not adopting the latest technologies simply because they have some problems grasping the way they work, and for this reason, a company called GiiNii has rolled out the 8-inch “All-in-One” True Video digital picture frame, which they tout to be one of the most user-friendly products of this type to be available on the market.

So, the main selling point of the GiiNii 8-inch “All-in-One” True Video digital frame is its EZ Navigation System that features simple controls (an innovative scroll wheel and just two buttons) and intuitive, Flash-animated menu items.

Plus, a straightforward photo management system lets users easily create and name albums (preset or custom) via an on-screen keypad without using a computer, these albums letting users quickly find and display specific photos.

Beside photos in JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF and Progressive JPEG formats, the digital photo frame also supports MPEG-4 and AVC/H.264 video playback, as it comes packed with a couple of stereo speakers.

We've talked a bit about the digital frame's features, now let's check out its specs, starting with the 8-inch back-lit LED panel capable of delivering a 800 x 600 pixels resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio.

Plus, the device packs 2 GB of internal memory, which can be filled with up to 10,000 photos either via the 6-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro, MS Duo and xD-Picture), the USB host (type A) port for USB flash drive or the Mini USB (mini B) port for connectivity to PCs.

Other features worth mentioning include the clock and calendar functions, auto rotation, which automatically displays images in portrait or landscape mode when frame is turned, and the variety of on-screen clock designs, with additional ones available to download.

The GiiNii 8-inch “All-in-One” True Video digital picture frame is available at several retailers, the price ranging from $89.99 to $109.99, which is a fairly OK sum, all things considered.

I've actually purchased this unti from Staples and compared to the other two digital frames i have, this is TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Where do i begin? First it's got a ton of memory so it holds thousands of photos. At first that's highly desireable, but after you keep adding more and more photos to ordinary frames, you simply can't easily find any given photo since they all load sequentially. With this new Giinii frame, you can actually organize all those photos in to customizeable "albums" which you can name right on the frame using it's keypad that appears on the screen.

The next cool thing is that this frame actually plays the videos i shot using my Flip Mino camcorder, JUST BY PLUGGING IT INTO THE USB SLOT. Very cool. I got home from a family reunion this past weekend and showed all the videos of the party to the rest of my family who couldn't attend.

This model cost more than the last one i bought but not by a lot, but it does so much more and holds a ton of photos. Very cool, indeed
