Bethesda fulfilled the expectations of a lot of gamers when it announced that it is working on The Elder Scrolls V and now the company has offered more information on the game world that it plans to create in the upcoming Skyrim.

Speaking to Game Informer, Todd Howard, who is the creative director at Bethesda Studios and one of the main people working on Skyrim, has said, “The big things for us were to draw a lot of stuff in the distance so we have a really sophisticated level of detail, more so than what we've had in the past for how things stream in and how detail gets added to them as they get closer to the camera.”

The new game engine the developers have promised is also specifically designed with snow in mind, given the northern nature of Skyrim and the fact that most of the time players will be seeing a world that is not only covered in snow but actual precipitations that affect the area.

We already know that the developers at Bethesda are aiming to make quests feel more natural through a new system which sees them evolve depending on how the main character approaches them and on what areas of the world are known and explored.

But the designers are also aiming to make the adventure of the main character more believable by creating an actual life like world, with more Artificial Intelligence routines, designed specifically to make characters, both those very important and those that only fill the world move around as if they had purpose at all times and not only when the gamers interacts with them.

The presence of dragons in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim means that the designers will need to pay extra attention to them, creating complex animations and routines that should make them believable and menacing at the same time.

The new Elder Scrolls game is set to be launched on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on November 11 of this year.
