New GTA IV Images and Details Revealed. Plus the Official Release Date!

Things are more exciting than anybody imagined when it comes to what GTA IV will look and feel like! There are some new screens to prove that, and, furthermore, some info regarding the features never seen before in a Grand Theft Auto game. And the release date is now official: the 29th of April 2008. But let's take a look at the new things.

First of all, for those who want to know more about the sex scenes in Grand Theft Auto IV, we have some bad news: nothing about them for the moment. But don't worry, Fox News will surely come with a piece of news before playing the game, so keep an eye on them!

Second, many things are going to change in GTA IV regarding the gameplay. According to MTV Games, who witnessed a 90 minute-long gameplay demo (lucky dudes!), noted most of the new implemented things. For example, Niko, your character, will now have the option to call a taxi anywhere on the map in order to reach any destination. For an extra fee, you can even skip the whole driving sequence, too! And this is something really big, if you afford it, of course!

Also, Rockstar finally noticed that some modern technologies are available in the real world and decided to implement them in GTA IV: you will have a mobile phone and you'll be able to go to Internet Cafes to surf the web, the cars you'll steal will have GPS systems and entering police cars will allow you to access their criminal database.

Also, the heat level has been changed a little: you can't just commit a crime now and hide for the heat stars to disappear. Whenever you commit a crime and a police officer sees you (otherwise not), a "heat circle" will appear on the map and you'll have to get out of it to get rid of police forces. If you won't do it or if you decide to fight the cops, the circle will get bigger and it will eventually be impossible for you to escape.

In GTA IV, even though you won't be able to get fat anymore, you can get drunk! But that's not a cool thing and you'll feel that: it will be harder for Niko to walk, to drive and the screen will get really blurry. And if you hated the fact that in the other GTA games police forces only had eyes for you, things have changed: you could notice random police chases in the city or other natural, non-player related situations.

While the list can surely be continued over a few pages, we'll wait for the game's release to discuss them. Knowing too much too early ain't a good thing, either. But a few new screenshots can't do any harm, so here they are:
