Coming soon

Recently leaked images and details about a new Sony Ericsson handset show us that the Swedish-Japanese company has been working on a GPS-enabled phone that will be integrated, most probably, into the Cyber-shot K-series.

The future phone, let's name it Sony Ericsson Kxxx, will be a special one, mainly because of its built-in GPS, as there are only few Sony Ericsson phones to have GPS capabilities (the W760 model presented at CES 2008 is one of them). The new handset comes with a conservative design, a pretty decent screen (although we don't know its exact size) and apparently it won't be able to compete for the "slimmest handset on the market" title. But none of the K-series phones does, so this shouldn't be a surprise.

The camera included in the handset is a 3 Megapixel one with Auto focus and dual-LED flash. Not great for a Cyber-shot phone, but enough to make good quality photos. Sony Ericsson also included a sliding protection cover to assure that the camera module is not accidentally damaged. Further technical details about the new SE phone remain unknown for the moment, but I'm sure we will soon have more to write about.

The color of this particular Sony Ericsson Kxxx seen in the leaked pictures is not really an attractive one (or maybe it is for kids), but the phone will surely be released with more color options. A black version and a silver one would be just perfect, as they can suit almost anyone's taste.

Since we only have leaked information and images, hence nothing official, there are no details about when the new phone will be commercially available, nor about an estimative retail price. Hopefully, for those who like it, the GPS K-series handset will come at the beginning of February and won't be too expensive.
