Second official trailer for “New Moon” released: it’s all about Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner)

The full-length second official “New Moon” trailer was premiered with “Bandslam” in US theaters a few hours ago and, as expected, a low-quality version of it is already out, making the rounds on the Internet. For this trailer, Summit Entertainment decided to put the Bella-Edward romance on the second spot and let Jacob Black bask in the spotlight for a change, as Team Jacob fans should be happy to hear.

The plot of the second book must no longer be unfamiliar to fans of “Twilight,” which means they also know what will go down in the sequel, since it follows Meyers’ story closely. There’s unrequited love, or at least the semblance of it, there’s irrationality and spontaneity, there’s plenty of brooding and heartache, and there’s also a 17-year-old actor who managed to pull an incredible physical feat – and the cameras are as if happy to show the world just how incredible what Taylor Lautner did is.

What this means is that the second trailer for “New Moon” is all about Lautner and his wolf character Jacob Black. There are, of course, plenty of scenes where both he and his fellow werewolves from the pack are not wearing shirts (fans know wolves’ temperature is much higher than in humans, which means they have little actual need for clothes, while their lack also makes it easier and much cheaper for them to turn), as well as brief moments where Edward and Bella kiss passionately.

The trailer is narrated by Lautner himself, who does his best to explain why “New Moon” will be better than “Twilight” and which basically amounts to everything we also mentioned in the second paragraph of this piece. Moreover, from what the footage just released shows (even if of such poor quality), the tension between Jacob and Bella on one side, and within Bella on the other, has been perfectly rendered by the cast and then captured on film.

All in all, “New Moon” is shaping up to be just the kind of film “Twilight” fans have been waiting for with such little patience: visually arresting, action packed and not lacking a good dose of drama and teen romance. Check out the leaked trailer below but keep in mind that Summit Entertainment is working overtime to pull all copies down, which means it might not stay here for long.
