Nexus One, the first mobile phone to arrive on the market with the Android 2.1 operating system on board, was recently updated to the latest Android flavor out there, the Android 2.2 Froyo platform, and it seems that it might soon receive a new software update.

According to the latest news around the Internet, this new firmware update for Nexus One already leaked into the wild, and some people already gave it a try.

It seems that the new Froyo ROM for the Nexus One comes with build number FRG33 and sports a series of minor bug fixes.

Moreover, the new software solution for Google's Nexus One is said to include a newer version of the installed radio than what was packed inside the latest official released build.

All in all, it seems that this is nothing more than a fresh Android 2.2 version, and no new OS version, just as some might have been hoping for.

According to those who already downloaded and installed the solution, the Wi-Fi on Nexus One should be working faster than before, and a series of other speed enhancements have been spotted as well.

The guys over at XDA-Developers already grabbed the solution, and they even managed to make it compatible with other devices too.

However, it seems that not all things might work properly on other handsets than the Nexus One, such as the Android Market access capabilities.

In case you install the solution and the above mentioned issue appears, you should head over to this thread on MoDaCo, for a workaround is discussed there.

More info on the newly leaked solution, which seems to be an official Froyo ROM, should be available at XDA-Developers here.

For what it's worth, those interested in downloading and installing the ROM should not forget that they are doing it at their own risk and that this would void their warranty.
