Mobile phone operator AT&T announced recently the launch of a series of two new TV apps for the AT&T U-verse users. According to the company, the new software solutions, dubbed Offers On Demand and Caller ID on TV, rise the number of applications available for its users to 20, with 12 of them being launched during the ongoing year only. The first new app enables users redeem a coupon code on-screen for movie rentals discounts, while the second one brings U-verse Voice Caller ID and voicemail notifications directly to the U-verse TV screen.

“These apps make U-verse services even more useful and interactive for our customers, and that’s exactly what every app should do,” said Jeff Weber, vice president of video services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “This has been a big year for U-verse TV applications. We’re delivering apps that not only enhance what you can do on your TV screen, but add value across your entire U-verse experience.”

The new Offers On Demand software solution is meant to enable users redeem coupons from their TV. All that U-verse TV customers need to do is to enter the coupon code on channel 199, after which they can instantly redeem it for watching a selected movie. The Offers On Demand coupon codes are available for users on channel 200, but they can also chose to go for them by texting “On Demand” to 9696. All U-verse TV customers can benefit from the app for free, while the first coupon code is set to be released on November 23.

The second new application, Caller ID on TV, enables users to view U-verse Voice Caller ID and voicemail notifications on the U-verse TV screen, without implying that the program should be interrupted. All U-verse TV and Voice customers in Austin can now enjoy the new app at no cost, and it is expected to soon become available through all U-verse markets.

Other applications are also available for AT&T U-verse customers, including the 12 ones launched in 2009: U-verse TV Multiview, Mobile Remote Access app for iPhone, Media Share, TV Awards and New Shows, Weather On Demand, Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football, College Basketball from Yahoo! Sports, Film Awards Interactive, 2009 Masters, and On Demand Top Picks. More details on the company's offering can be found here.
