The differences between them are the capacity range and connector

For some reason, makers of removable storage devices have decided that it was a good week for making a step back to the past, at least with one foot.

Which is to say, they've launched both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 flash drives, even though the former are kind of obsolete at this point. And they didn't even all try to make them stand apart in any other fashion.

Well, sure, the Panram Jewel and World Cup Series are distinct enough, but the flash drives that Silicon Power has just unveiled aren't.

Called USB 2.0 Touch T06 and USB 3.0 Jewel J06, they both look like small, rectangular gems, of sorts, but are otherwise similar. Outwardly, anyhow.

So it's kind of hard to figure out why anyone would purchase the former over the latter, since the price difference isn't bound to be that large. Not that the prices were even mentioned, but still.

At least the new storage units are water- and vibration-proof, as well as reasonably shielded from dust.

The Touch T06 comes in 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB capacities, while the USB 3.0 Jewel J06 are 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB drives only. Black, white and dark blue are the colors you can choose from.
