A couple of new applications are supported now, along with something extra

There really isn't much to say about the new software update that Sony has released for the Xperia Tablet S: the SGPSPK1 speaker dock is now supported.

Detailed here, the speaker dock acts as a stand and can receive signals form a remote control as well, giving remote access to the tablet. The dock also keeps the tablet recharged. There doesn't seem to be any water protection involved though.

Speaking of which, Sony should have fixed that water vulnerability problem on the tablet by now.

In addition to enabling support for the speaker dock, the new firmware for Xperia Tablet S lets the Socialife and Reader applications work.

Owners of the tablet should receive an update notification screen automatically, soon. The file is a bit large though (65-70 MB), so a better than average Wi-Fi connection will come in handy.
