Prestigio advises users to back up their data before starting the installation

Prestigio has recently updated the firmware for its MultiPad 4 Quantum 9.7, MultiPad 4 Diamond 7.85 3G, and MultiPad 4 Quantum 7.85 tablets. Few release notes are available, only for the 9.7” MultiPad 4 Quantum, and include performance improvements, preloaded application updates and solutions for other small bugs.

Version numbers vary with the model and so do the firmware installation notes. The MultiPad 4 Diamond 7.85 3G is the easiest to update. It requires you to copy the firmware file to the microSD card, boot in recovery mode (press and hold “Vol+” and the power button and select “Recovery” when prompted), and press the “Vol-” key when the green droid appears.

Select the “update.zip” file you've recently copied to the memory card and wait for the installation to complete.

For the other two devices, there's a firmware update utility packed along. Also, there are drivers for Windows OS.

To install the new release on the MultiPad 4 Quantum 9.7 and 7.85, install the drivers (if necessary), start up the firmware tool, browse for the “img” file inside the “Firmware” folder, and hit update.

As I've mentioned before, it is important that you back up your files before starting the update. The process will wipe out anything present on the tablet, leaving behind a clean, new OS.

Download the new firmware at the links below, check out the “Manual” folder inside each of them, install, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
