D700 owners can now update their firmware to version A, 1.03 and B, 1.02. The update is available for Windows and Mac users alike.

There are no separate downloads for version A and version B, the package will update them both simultaneously. It comes with only one fix and this refers to underexposed images:

An issue that, in some very rare cases, caused images to be extremely under-exposed has been resolved. On its website, Nikon provides a tutorial on how to verify your camera’s firmware version and, if necessary, how to update the existing software.

Before updating the firmware users must follow a set of instructions:

• Save/load settings camera settings data Camera settings data saved while the camera was running A and B firmware Ver. 1.00 or 1.01 is not compatible with the new firmware, and therefore cannot be loaded after this upgrade is performed. • Do not use a Lexar Media JumpShot USB cable to copy downloaded firmware to a memory card. The firmware may not be correctly upgraded.  Nikon D700 Camera Firmware for Windows
