Sony Mobile is getting ready for the launch of new software updates for the Xperia Z Ultra smartphone, and a new firmware for the device has received the necessary certification from PTCRB.

Spotted as version 14.1.B.1.493, the new release should follow shortly after another update that was pushed to the HSPA+ flavor of the handset (model number C6802), featuring build number 14.1.B.0.471.

Unfortunately, no specific info on what the new software might include has been provided, XperiaGuide notes.

However, the new site also mentions that the handset misses some important features, such as the X-Reality for mobile, which might be included in the aforementioned firmware.

Hopefully, Sony will provide specific info on its plans for the upcoming Xperia Z Ultra update in the not too distant future, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
