But we have to wait for the announcements

The Xbox 360 has seen a major increase in popularity these past few months, largely due to the fact that Microsoft has employed a price cut and launched a lot of new features for its console, with the most important one being the New Xbox Experience, a full revamp of the old user interface.

But it now seems that more and more features will soon arrive on the North American console, as the group product manager in charge of the Xbox 360 for Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg, has revealed to Kotaku that, his company will announce these features as they will approach completion. He also adds that as soon as new partnerships with other companies, such as the one with Netflix, are made, we will hear about new services added to the console.

“We absolutely have a lot of innovation, we have new first and third-party games coming out this holiday that we have not announced yet,” teased Greenberg. “We'll probably wait until later in the year to talk about those. The team that built the NXE is a massive team that's working on things like Xbox Live Primetime in the Spring, but new stuff, new partnerships, new content and things that we'll be announcing throughout the year. So stay tuned. There's a lot coming, for sure.”

Building hype is seemingly a natural thing for Microsoft, as we've seen other executives tout the impressive lineup of games, features and services that will hit the console in the near future. Hopefully all of these things will live up to the expectations and all of the customers who recently purchased an Xbox 360 will have a lot of things to look forward to this year.

Let's just hope that this trend is followed by both Nintendo and, especially, Sony, and both companies will bring new things to their products in an effort to rival Microsoft. In the end, the consumer is the one who gets the most benefits, so this might be a very good time to buy a console if you haven't done that already.
