Ubisoft has rolled out the second and final part of the Welcome to Kyrat web series for Far Cry 4, in the form of a fresh gameplay video that focuses on the Midlands and the Himalayas regions of the fictional Asian country.

Far Cry games have taken fans to some pretty impressive destinations so far, ranging from the tropical island in the original to Africa and another Pacific island in the last few installments. With Far Cry 4, Ubisoft is switching things up and sets the action of the game in the fictional country of Kyrat, a Himalayan territory that borrows heavily from Nepal, India, and other such states.

Learn more about Kyrat

After showcasing the lowlands of the beautiful country in the first Welcome to Kyrat video earlier this month, Ubisoft has now rolled out a fresh gameplay trailer, this time focusing on the Midlands and the Himalayas, two much more intense environments from the fictional country.

Just like the first video, the new one features commentary from Ubisoft, introducing fans to different vital elements, from main locations to the characters that inhabit them, not to mention the different animals that can be hunted or will hunt protagonist Ajay Ghale.

Each of the three major areas provide different challenges

According to Ubisoft, each of the three main zones in Far Cry 4 provide different challenges to players but they don't inhibit them in big ways, as players should always be free to do what they want in a Far Cry game.

"Each of the three major biomes – the Lowlands, Midlands and Himalayas – will be vastly different, both in looks and gameplay. The team had to consider the types of navigation present in each area – is it better for swimming or climbing? – as well as the animals present and the challenges in region. But the team also fought to ensure no matter where you are, you can play the way you want," the studio explains on the UbiBlog.

The Midlands and Himalayas are centered on different things

The Midlands of Kyrat focus on the booming drug trade of the fictional country and players will not only have to interact with it, but also brave the dangers of an ancient coliseum, where they'll have to battle other Kyrat natives, not to mention wolves and other such beasts.

In the Himalayas, players are going to have to escape the sky cells, the political prison of dictator Pagan Min, as well as his main lieutenant, Yuma, a former Triads member.

Far Cry 4 launches next month across PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
