As we are getting closer and closer to the release of Fading Shadows for PSP, Ivolgamus, the game's developer has once again rolled out a bunch of screens depicting one of the game's mind-twisting stages where players must move the orb through a series of pools separated by a drawbridge. Fading Shadows is set for a February 2008 release on Sony's handheld.

If this is the first piece of Fading Shadows news you're reading, the game has players controlling a beam of light exploiting the state-changing abilities of an orb to overcome challenges within a total of 40 single player levels and 10 multiplayer levels.

The game's plot says you are tasked with saving Erwyn, whose death, according to the millennia-old prophecy, will allow evil master Gardal to breach the gates of the Castle of Heaven, the supreme fortress built to protect the world from the forces of darkness. Erywn's soul has been enclosed in a protective orb by his clairvoyant sister, Aira, and the orb must now be returned to the dungeon where Erwyn is captive, using a magical beam of light.

According to the latest report, in order to conquer the Sinister Bridge level the orb must be moved through a series of pools separated by a drawbridge. Players must activate two switches near the first pool to lower the drawbridge and move to the next pool.

Of course, as you can shift the orb's state, players will need to transform the orb to wood so it can float across the pool. After that, you must ensure not to evaporate the water in the pool with too much heat from the beam of light until the orb reaches the other side. Only then will you be able to leave the orb outside the pool and remove the water to enable the light to activate the switch at the bottom of the pool. Simple huh?

Don't worry, there's more to this stage than you thought. Activating the switch you will open a grate to drive the orb forward between holes in the path. After that, all you have to do is avoid the hot centre of the circle while pressing the switches in order to open the final gate and complete the level.

Check out the screens below and stay close for updates from Ivolgamus on this superb puzzle platformer, due out in 2008 exclusively for the PSP system from Sony.
