The new project might be an HD remastering of Fable 1 and The Lost Chapters or a new game

Lionhead has just posted a teaser trailer for its new Fable project, featuring hints that it's actually a remake of the original Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters experiences in high-definition, but also showing villain Jack of Blades.

The Fable series has been around for some time and, even if recent installments such as the Kinect-only The Journey, haven't exactly pleased fans, the team at Lionhead still wants to continue the franchise.

After hinting at major news yesterday, the studio has now posted a teaser trailer with the next Fable project.

The trailer starts off rather awkwardly, with a Twitter interface that sees multiple messages written to Lionhead about the HD remake of the original Fable, but it ends with Fable 1 and Fable: The Lost Chapters villain Jack of Blades announcing his return.

As such, it's still unclear if the new Fable experience is Fable 1 remastered in HD or if it's a new experience, like the rumored Fable 4.

Check out the teaser trailer above and note that the end shows a logo for the Xbox 360, so the new title might not appear on the next-gen Xbox One.
