The folks at Dropbox have just released a new version of their Android application, which brings a new camera feature and more free cloud storage space.

With the brand new Camera Upload feature, users will be able to automatically upload photos and videos in the background via Wi-Fi connection or data plan.

However, the developers of the application offer users 500MB of free space on first photo uploaded automatically.

It is also worth mentioning that during this beta period, Dropbox users will get additional 500MB space bonus for every 500MB of photos and video automatically uploaded, up to 5GB total.

Keep in mind that this space is not separate from 5GB given for uploading using desktop clients. This means that it does not matter which client a user is taking advantage of to automatically upload photos and videos.

The latest experimental release of Dropbox for Android is now available as a free download via Softpedia and should be compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
