New York-based global trade intelligence platform Panjiva has discovered, using its own shipment search engine, that Apple is getting new “set top boxes” from China.

Don’t get your hopes up for a full-fledged Apple-branded iTV, but there’s a good chance these listings indicate there’s a new version of the puck-sized Apple TV on the way.

Discovered via Panjiva Shipment Search, a bill of lading data from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security reveals that on August 25, Apple received a shipment dubbed “Set Top Box with Communication Function” from BYD Precision Manufacture in Shenzhen, China.

Another “Set Top Box” shipment from the same BYD came on August 18th, and yet another one was recorded on August 11, reports Panjiva.

The trade intelligence service also notes that Apple has previously received shipments for “set top boxes” on December 5, 2012, from Hon Hai (Foxconn). Those were the current-selling Apple TVs.
