With sports functionality

It seems that Motorola is getting ready to release on the market yet another entry-level mobile phone, which comes in a sliding form factor and is reported to be aimed at sports enthusiasts – the Motorola W7, just leaked into the wild.

The new phone comes with an elongated D-pad and a not-too-good-looking design, also sporting a poor choice of colors. Even so, the rumors on the Web suggest that the device is expected to come around featuring a QVGA screen, while also including EDGE support. The leaked photos of the Motorola W7 also show the presence of a 2-megapixel photo snapper, yet there is no info on the features the camera will come with.

On the front side of the handset one can easily spot the soft keys and call keys, yet it seems that two more buttons have been added to the equation as well, which might prove to be useful when it comes to the sports-related functionality of the device, yet it is not known for sure what they actually do.

If we were to take a guess, the features of the handset might resemble a little what the Nokia Sports Tracker can offer users, though nothing is certain. As many of you might already know, said Nokia application can track user's jogging, running or cycling workouts while tapping into the GPS functionality of the device.

No further information on the capabilities of the new Motorola W7 is available, nor on a possible price tag or a launch time frame, yet more should become available in the near future, so stay tuned. In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the device, to see if its color scheme appeals to you or not.
