Amazing news to start off the day for Eminem fans. Well, it’s not actually news “news” but it’s still better than nothing: countless reports indicate that a new album will be dropping this summer.

Speculation about the new studio material started once Detroit radio station Channel 955 posted on its Facebook page that the release date was July 2. However, it didn’t have official confirmation for it.

As of now, a date is yet to be confirmed but Shady Records President Paul Rosenberg says that 2013 is definitely the year fans will get new Eminem music.

“We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when,” he says.

“We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up,” Rosenberg adds.

Eminem’s last album was “Recovery” in 2010, which certified his status as a hip hop icon. Are you excited for new music from him?
