Cloud computing company Dropbox Inc. today offers an updated version of its desktop client for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux computers, adding updated translations and nothing more.

According to the release notes accompanying Dropbox 2.6.31, the client brings updated translations for all existing languages, including Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional), English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, and Spanish (both European and Latin American).

Customers can manually tweak their language options via the settings menu: click on the Dropbox icon from the menu bar > click on the gear icon and select Preferences... from the menu > click the Advanced tab > select preferred language from the Language menu.

In the web interface, users can simply choose their preferred language from the pull-down menu in the footer of the Dropbox home page. Other languages are on the way, according to the cloud company.

This update is part of the 2.6.x branch, which includes dual-account support, a redesigned Setup Wizard, Pause Syncing now available from the tray popup, new Installers for Windows and OS X, and more responsive selective Sync UI.

According to Dropboxer Alicia C., “There is a known issue with this build where installation will fail for Mac standard (non-administrator) users.”
