Just now, Realtek has made available new driver packages targeted at its RTL8153 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet controller, namely versions 7.011 and 8.016, that are covered by the US6,570,884, US6,115,776, and US6,327,625 patents.

In order to be clear, the producer has outed one Windows 7-compatible package (7.011) and one archive that includes an auto-installation program suitable for Microsoft’s Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems (8.016).

In addition to that, you should also know that each released file is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of the compatible OSes.

When it comes to installing these packages, simply get and extract the proper downloadable file for your system’s OS, run the available setup, click “Next,” then “Install,” and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete and successful update.

Moreover, if not requested by the wizard upon completion, make sure to manually reboot the computer in order to ensure that all changes take effect properly. Moreover, you can also check the currently installed version and see if it reads a 0716.2014 build number.

That being said, download Realtek USB 3.0 LAN Driver 7.011 or download Realtek USB 3.0 LAN Driver 8.016 depending on which file the computer is compatible with, apply it on your system, and update the Ethernet driver to the latest version.
