Broadcom has released a new Ethernet driver compatible with its NetLink and NetXtreme network interface controllers, namely version 16.6.0.4b, which can be applied on most Windows platforms.

Specifically speaking, when it comes to the NetLink devices, this new update is compatible with the producer’s BCM5781, BCM5786, BCM5787, BCM5788, and BCM5789 controllers, and can be applied only on computers powered by Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system (either 32- or 64-bit variant).

As for the NetXtreme package, this release is suitable for Broadcom’s BCM5752, BCM5762, BCM57760, BCM57761, and BCM57765 desktop Ethernet controllers.

In addition to that, besides the Vista OS, this package is also compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and Server 2008 operating systems, as well as with the 64-bit architectures of Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, and Server 2012 R2 platforms.

Bear in mind that Windows XP and Server 2003 operating systems, as well as earlier Windows OSes, are not compatible with any of the available packages. Also, Broadcom’s latest drivers do not include support for the BCM5700, BCM5701 and BCM5702 devices.

If you intend to apply this driver, first make sure that your system configuration is compatible with this release, save the proper downloadable archive for your OS bit version, perform a manual reboot to ensure that all changes take effect, and you’re done.

That being said, download Broadcom NetXtreme Ethernet Driver 16.6.0.4b or download Broadcom NetLink Ethernet Driver 16.6.0.4b, and update your network driver to the latest version. Also, check out our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
