“Dredd” 3D drops in theaters (in 3D, of course) this September and, based on what movie buffs are saying online, it holds a lot of promise. The recently released featurette embedded above suggests the same.

Based on the popular “Judge Dredd” comics, the new film sees Karl Urban as Dredd, toiling to bring order, or at least some sense of it, into a world ruled by chaos and lawlessness.

The people of this world find escape in a drug called Slo-Mo, which does exactly what its name says: it slackens the pace of the brain functions, so that everything is experienced in stunning slow motion.

Obviously, many of the scenes in the film will also be shown in the same manner. Add some 3D into the mix, and you got yourself one incredible experience.

Check out the video above to see how it was made possible.
