New Drawsome Tablet Will Test Wii U Ideas

Ubisoft announced that it was preparing to launch a tablet called Drawsome for the current version of the Wii and it seems that the move is destined as a test bed for games that will be linked to the new Wii U home console.

Speaking to investors Yves Guillemot, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Ubisoft, stated, “What's extremely interesting is it's also a way for us to test the market for the Wii U, as the products we create for will be helping us to understand what the problems are going to be for consumers," he said. "So it's a way to get into the tablet process for a console that is in homes.”

The Drawsome will have a touch screen and stylus and will initially get two creativity oriented games, with more set to arrive in 2012, some of them presumably developed in parallel for the Wii U.

Guillemot added, “When you look at graphics and animation, we will be able to spread that cost between the three platforms, where with the Wii you had to create a totally different product.”
