A fresh set of images from the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition role-playing game has appeared online, showing off a brand new area called The Western Approach, a desert-like environment that was once ravaged by the Darkspawn.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to launch this October, and developer BioWare has begun sharing more and more details about the medieval fantasy role-playing game.

After learning more about various new regions in the game, a new one, in the form of The Western Approach, has received a set of gorgeous screenshots from the studio.

The new environment is mostly an uninhabited desert, as during the Second Blight of the game's universe, it was ravaged by Darkspawn crawling out of the Abyssal Rift.

The region is close to Orlais and leads into the Hunterhorn Mountains.

The main outpost in The Western Approach is a castle built by the Grey Warden order and it's quite likely that the protagonist of the new game, The Inquisitor, can use it as a base of operations during his quest to save the world from the forces of the Fade.
