Codemasters has just presented a fresh video with its upcoming Dirt Showdown destruction racing game, this time presenting gameplay from the new title.

Dirt Showdown represents a new direction for the racing series made by Codemasters, as the UK-based studio wants to deliver an experience focused on demolition derbies, stunt competitions and the already famous Gymkhana events, which were already a part of last year’s Dirt 3.

We’ve heard the first details and seen a cinematic video at the end of last year and now the studio has presented a short gameplay video called Nevada 8 Ball. In it, cars race on a figure-8 track in Nevada and try to tear each other up by causing massive crashes.

“The stage is a dirty, dusty circuit in the sun-baked Nevada desert where eight racers perform in front of the crowd, taking on jumps and dangerous crossover points as they jostle for position against a backdrop of fireworks and fire cannons,” Codemasters revealed about the video.

Check out the video above and get ready for the release of Dirt Showdown in May 2012 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
