Diablo 3 was announced just a few months ago and after the first trailer, Blizzard did not reveal too much new information about the game. Many people were thinking that in Leipzig, we might hear more, but apparently there are only a handful of new screenshots of the game you can take a look at below.

The new screenshots are showing us characters we already know from the trailer that accompanied the initial announcement of Diablo 3: the Barbarian and the Witch. There are three more classes which will be featured in the game but Blizzard is not yet ready to offer details on them.

The Witch Doctor is a surprising appearance and he seems to be the heir to the necromancer, with an ability to summon pets and spread disease. He seems more of a caster type which is pretty vulnerable to physical attacks. The Barbarian, on the other hand, is more of a heavy hitter, a tank that can soak up a ton of damage while taking out his enemies one at a time, up close and personal. The new screenshots manage to convey the sense of sheer brutality of his moves and appearance.

The red orbs are one of the biggest changes made to the game. It might not seem much but these orbs are like the med kits in a traditional shooter, replenishing your health quickly without the need for potions. And with blood being red and mana being blue, we can safely assume that some blue orbs will also be popping up in the game.

It's nice to see how the enemies are shaping up, although most of them were already present in the previous screenshots and trailers seen.

BlizzCon is quickly coming up and now we look to Blizzard's own convention as a venue where more of Diablo 3 might be showed. I'm hoping to see a new character class unveiled in the next few weeks. In the meantime, click on the screenshots to see the bigger versions:

mana isnt necessarily blue, look at the colour difference between the Witch Doctor mana and the Barbarian mana, Barbarian is a bit more teal than blue
