Greater Rifts no longer offer XP depending on mode difficulty

Two new hot fixes for Diablo 3 have just been rolled out for the game's PC and Mac versions, fixing a pretty serious exploit relating to Greater Rifts, while solving another issue that caused player death when they used the Moratorium legendary gem.

Diablo 3 came out two years ago, and in recent weeks many players went back to the dungeon crawling RPG in order to experience the new features brought forth by patch 2.1.0.

Since the update's debut, Blizzard has released a few smaller hot fixes that required no download from players.

Now, another set of improvements has been made available, according to Blizzard's announcement on the Battle.net forums.

The most important one eliminates an exploit used in Greater Rifts to earn more XP based on the game mode's difficulty. It seems that starting a game on the highest Torment 6 difficulty and leaving a player in town while the other three party members entered a Greater Rift unlocked a lot of bonus experience.

Another glitch, this time with the Moratorium legendary gem that killed players even if they had anti-death skills like Indestructible or Spirit Vessel, has been solved and the gem is once again safe to use.

The new Diablo 3 hot fixes are already live.
