New “Dexter” Season 7 Spot: This Is the Beginning

Season 6 of Showtime's “Dexter” wrapped up with possibly the series' biggest cliffhanger, even bigger than Rita's death in season 4. A new promo hints at a possible direction for the story to take in season 7.

Called “The Beginning,” the new promo shows Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) as we left them at the end of the previous season, with Deb walking in on Dexter in the church, as he was performing his killing ritual.

The new video shows Dexter plunging the knife into Travis as Deb looks on in horror. Seconds later, the body is on fire though, as fans were quick to point out online, the knife has been replaced by a sword.

“Dexter” ends (for good) with season 8, so we're to expect the writer to be tying up loose ends come September, when season 7 premieres.
