New weapons, new items and some new gameplay mechanics

GTA IV really turned out to be a great hit. It surpassed GTA III, which is in itself a great thing, not because GTA was such a great game, which it was, but because sequels are usually bad. Not worse than the previous release, but standalone bad, without the need for any comparison. So every time a game that has a number in its title comes out it's usually cause for concern. But this time everything turned out great, and the game even got an addon.

Besides the brand-new single-player campaign the “happy man” will bring in Grand Theft Auto 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony, the release will also bring some other new features to the original title. Aside from the new additions to the arsenal, players will get a brand-new item for the multiplayer. It may not sound like much, but you haven't heard yet what the item is. The addon will come with a parachute for players that will allow a real nice change of pace, as well as open up a whole new array of possibilities.

Besides allowing us to jump off the roof of a skyscraper when we've been turned to sentimental mush by our overburdened conscience but still have a chance to abort our suicide, Gay Tony will also bring us an entire new bag of weapons. The list is composed by the Pistol .44, Explosive Shotgun, Assault SMG, Gold SMG, Advanced MG, Advanced Sniper, and Sticky Bombs. New vehicles will also be added, like the tank and attack choppers.

Kill streaks in multiplayer will now offer special bonuses. If you didn't already have enough incentive to kill people without dying in the process, you will get armor and health bonuses for killing sprees of 3, 5 and 10. The game will be available as downloadable content on October 29 for the Xbox 360.
