During this year's Gamescom, Capcom revealed more details about its upcoming 2.5D action side-scroller, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2. The developer is planning to enhance every feature that made very successful reboot great.

Players take control of Nathan Spencer again in Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, as they guide the elite soldier in his battles against the evil General Sabio, a technologically sophisticated enemy that wants to unleash a deadly missile attack against the world.

Spencer will, of course, make use of his well known grappling hook to grab, swing and leap through new and visually appealing environments and defeat the many soldiers the game pits him against.

Capcom promises that Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 will improve on its predecessor's graphics, adding more detailed character models, textures and more vibrant colors.

The game is set to become more dynamic this time around, with the platforming being enhanced by a jump mechanic this time around. This was a feature that was missed by many gamers in the previous released.

The bionic arm is also getting new attacks and other upgrades and the players' minds will be tested in new physics-based platformer puzzles.

Capcom has announced that the much vaunted two-player cooperative mode from Bionic Commando Rearmed will return in the sequel in a much better form. The game's camera is also set to receive a few upgrades that should really please the crowd of fans.

The cut-scenes are designed by Massive Black, the studio behind such big hits like inFamous, BioShock 2 and God of War 3. The soundtrack is inspired by effects from the Nintendo Entertainment system era, when the first Bionic Commando game saw the light of day.

Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is in development at Fatshark and is set to arrive sometime in 2011 through the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and through Xbox Live for the Xbox 360.
