Google's homepage is one of the most visited websites every day because it provides access to the most powerful search engine on the Internet. The design of the page is probably well known on the entire Internet but it seems like Google really plans to change it. As you know, Google owns more than a single search technology, allowing users to search for videos, blogs, news, groups and docs directly from the official page of the company. All you need to do is to select a certain feature and type the keyword in the search box.

As you can see, the alternative search functions are placed just above the search box displayed on the official page of Google. Ionut Alex, Google blogger, reported the company currently tests a new design, allowing the search giant to include other services provided by Google. The alternative search options are now placed in the top left corner of the page among other non-search technologies but also Google products (Calendar and Docs).

"The links to Google's services were detached from the search box and were moved in the top left corner. Because there's no visible connection between the links and the search box, this move allowed Google to add non-search services: Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs. Now that anyone can get a Gmail account and services like Calendar and Docs & Spreadsheets have matured and reached a wider audience, Google plans to make them even more visible," the blogger reported.

At this time, the Google's official page displays the old and well-known design without any change or improvement. It looks like the company is continuously working on the appearance of their pages as Google recently released several new templates for the Personalized Homepage available for all users for free.
