New Deep Zoom Composer Release Now Live

Microsoft has made available for download a new release of the Deep Zoom Composer, an application designed to enable users to easily prepare images for use with the Deep Zoom Feature in Silverlight. The Redmond company has yet to announce any specific details related to the latest build of the Deep Zoom Composer, but my best guess is that the software giant has started adapting the utility to the latest major iteration of Silverlight and Expression Studio. Still, users must understand that in the absence of any confirmation and official details from Microsoft, the new Deep Zoom Composer might only be a minor update to the version

Microsoft has traditionally tied Deep Zoom Composer updates to Silverlight and Expression Studio releases. As users are undoubtedly already aware, Silverlight 4 and Expression Studio 4 were leased earlier this year. Via the links at the bottom of the screen, you will be able to download not only the latest build of Deep Zoom Composer, but also the most recent release of Silverlight 4, as well as the trial version of Expression Studio 4.

“With Deep Zoom Composer, you can take a collection of images of various resolutions (including large, high-resolution images) and arrange them into a composition. You can then export or publish the composition as either a single high-resolution image or a set of individual images with different resolutions. Once you export or publish your composition, you can use a standard broadband connection to quickly display and navigate a large, detailed image or a panorama of images that might otherwise be extremely slow to view,” Microsoft stated.

One year ago to the day Microsoft wrapped up the first fully-fledged version of the Deep Zoom Composer, just weeks after it had made available a Release Candidate development milestone. Over the course of the past year, things have been quiet on the Deep Zoom Composer front, but now there’s a new release available from the Redmond company.
