A new piece of downloadable content has been announced for the multiplayer component of Aliens versus Predator. The Bughunt Map Pack will be released on the 7th of July 2010 for all the three platforms Rebellion's first person shooter was outed on, that is the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and Steam on the PC for seven dollars or 560 Microsoft Points.

The downloadable package will contain four new maps with weather effects, allowing players to fight in the BG-386 colony. The maps are split into two pairs, one for the competitive multiplayer and the other for the Survival mode. Furthermore, these contain environmental hazards to spice up the battles.

The two maps for the competitive multiplayer will be playable in all the game's modes. Crashsite is set in a jungle/swamp environment and will host up to 18 players. It will be a difficult terrain to move through for the Predator with many elements that could disable their cloaks. Marines have a clear open field for fire; unfortunately, the number of trees means that their enemies could come from anywhere. Aliens, on the other hand, will enjoy quite a lot of places where they can hide and plan an ambush on their enemies.

Furious is a map designed for up to 12 players, consisting of a cylinder shaped area dominated by a furnace in the middle. A network of pathways and beams across the roof of the arena gives a lot of options for Predators this time around. Marines, however, will have a more difficult time because of the limited fighting room and the danger random eruptions from the furnace pose to those of them that are not careful. Aliens have a lot of walls and ceilings they can crawl on and surprise absent-minded enemies.

The Survival maps are called Monument and Tempest. The former takes place in an area dedicated to a deceased Predator Lord. The map suits Alien movement and is designed to be more difficult and pose a challenge for Surival veterans. Tempest puts players in a dark and stormy environment, with flashes of lightning revealing the location of the attacking Aliens.
